Mountain Biking

If you fancy jumping over sand dune peaks, racing down spectacular woodland trails, and ripping through grassland expanses with only a mountain bike to cling onto then why not make The Flying Pig Beach Hostel the base for your mountain biking break or forest biking holiday!   

The sand dunes are less than 500 metres from The Flying Pig Beach Hostel, and you can hire mountain bikes and biking equipment from the specialist cycle outlet that is situated a mere 100 yards from the front door of the Beach Hostel.  

The 12km mountain bike route is seldom overcrowded, even in the summer.  The mountain bike course is still negotiable in the winter, and although the conditions are less favourable, you might have the luxury of finding yourself all alone out on the sand dunes! 

The Noordwijk mountain bike route cuts across an array of scenic landscapes that all hug the picturesque coastline.  Mountain bike riders are required to negotiate sand, grass, and woodland terrain – and this varied environment quickly enhances biking technique and riding position.   

Cyclists of all standards are welcome at The Flying Pig Beach Hostel – and if you fancy hiring safety equipment, sports bikes, tandems, or children’s bikes, you can do so at the local cycle store.  However, these bikes are for use on flat surfaces only – we do not recommend taking a tandem or a child’s bike out onto the Noordwijk sand dunes!
